Charlie Fajkus graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1975 as arguably one of the greatest soccer players in school history. Charlie led the Tigers to a 2nd place IHSA finish during his senior year. He was named a high school All American his junior and senior year. He currently holds the Tiger record for career goals (58), career assists (56) and career total points (172). Two of these school records translate into top 10 ranking in the IHSA record book.

Upon graduation from Wheaton Central, Charlie then accepted a scholarship to the national soccer power Indiana University. He ranks in the top 15 in 5 separate offensive categories all time for the Hoosiers. He was named an All American and played in the national championship game in 1976 and 1978.

Charlie was drafted by his hometown Chicago Sting and his 10 year professional career ws highlighted by the 1981 NASL US Championship. Charlie Fajkus was also represented the Red, White and Blue by participating as a member of the US National team in 1983 and 1984.

Charlie was honored twice by the Illinois State Soccer Association by being inducted as high school player and as a member of the Chicago Sting Championships Team. Charlie’s number 9 was retired by the Wheaton Warrenville South soccer program for his tremendous skill, but also for his strength of character and integrity as a player and person. Currently, he is the only athlete to have his jersey number retired.

Charlie currently lives in the Kansas City area with his family.
